Edmonds includes questions at the end of each chapter to stimulate discussion, and the text is augmented by fourteen maps, thirty-seven photographs and five illustrations. This book is still useful as a general introduction to ancient Greece, and will be of additional value to those with an interest in the history of Classical education in England.
