商品簡介 |
Armed with a Contax film camera and three digital cameras, Pat Fok spent a decade and travelled to more than a dozen countries taking the photographs on which the extraordinary light phenomena seen in this book occurred. As well as being beautiful and intriguing as works of art, these rare photographs also contain an element of mystery as they tended to occur in churches, temples, and at celebrator y gatherings amongst family and friends, often in the glow of the full moon.
About the photographer Pat Fok was born in Hong Kong and attended secondary school in England from the age of fourteen. From there, she subsequently studied languages at Villars sur Ollon in Switzerland and then graduated from the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) with a BA in Environmental Design. While at UCLA she also attended Art Center College to specialise in photography and had the privilege to study under the eminent American nature photographer, Ansel Adams. Starting in her twenties, Fok published a succession of photographic collections and essays, including Hong Kong Through the Looking Glass, The Englishman’s England, Faces of China, and Quiet Beauty of China. |
