This is a book about care for the elderly with special emphasis on their housing and living arrangements. "Community Care" has been the guiding principle for the development of services for the elderly since the 1970s. Different services have been developed to enable elderly people to stay in the community for as long as possible. Colleagues of the Department of Social Work and Social Administration have conducted research and written extensively on different topics related to the needs of and services provided to elderly people. In this book, we have selected articles written by our colleagues on the various aspects of the housing needs of the elderly. These articles cover a wide range of topics, ranging from policies to practice models. The articles are research based and focused on the situation in Hong Kong.
