This contributed volume offers several cases in Life Cycle Assessment and implementation of circular economy principles across different industries. Life Cycle Assessment is one of the widely used and popular scientific tools which is been utilized to measure the environmental footprints of various products and processes. Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) is a process for evaluating the environmental impacts of a product or service over the course of its entire life. A circular economy is a meaningful alternative to a traditional linear economy, i.e. take, make, waste and it seeks all the possible ways to reduce waste, recovers resources at the end of a product's life, and importantly channels them back into production, thus significantly reducing the environmental impacts. Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) harmonizes Circular Economy by assessing the environmental impacts, thus providing a strong evidence which is highly critical for effective decision-making. Combination of the principles of the circular economy and LCA will enable product developers to quantify the environmental performance of various products and processes and supply chain configurations and also to compare circular strategies.
