OftenseeninplacesaroundTaiwan,theselargeandunusedpublicfacilitiesarealsoknownas“mosquitopavilions”.Theyoftenarisefrominappropriatepolicies,wheregovernment,inthenameofexpandinginternalconsumptionsandclosingtheurbanandruralgaps,misjudgeusagerates,implementinappropriateplansanddesigns,givingrisetothedisusedspacesaroundthecountry,apracticethattillthisdaystillremained.Thisprojectwasexecutedby“LostSocietyDocument”formedbyartistYAOJui-Chungandstudents,targetingpublicfacilitiesthatcosthugefundsinconstructionovertherecenttwentyyears,everyyearonehundredcasesthatrequiredthemostattentionandreviewwascollectedtoformMirage:DisusedPublicPropertyinTaiwan,overthepastfouryearsfourvolumeswaspublished.Thisbookselectedonehundredcriticalcasesfromthefourhundredcasesexposedbytheseries,outliningtheabsurdstateofTaiwanesesociety.Inadditiontoprovidingthepublicareferenceforreflection,italsoallowedyouthswhohaveyettoseriousobservedtheirhometowntoopenupanalternativedialoguethroughthelensofthecamera.
