It's five in the afternoon and the alarm clock goes off. Jorge must hurry, his shift at the call center starts at six and after getting ready, he must walk to the bus station to take the bus into work. So he begins to wake himself up, he showers, gets dressed, but when he's almost finished, something unexpected happens, as he tries to put his shoes on, he realizes that they don't fit. He tries his other foot, no luck. He looks at the shoes, they are the same ones he had before, and his feet don't seem swollen. Now in a hurry he runs to grab another pair, but they too don't fit. His feet apparently are bigger. With no time to waste, he runs out to the bus station with his shoes halfway on, having no idea that that anomaly is the first symptom of his decline. |
