His children the product of a mixed race marriage would make them more vulnerable to radicals and extremists.His new family were in great peril; he was advised by his friend to escape to a safe place.Filled with the guilt of leaving friends and relatives behind, though staying and accepting the consequences wasn't a risk he was prepared to take.Witnessing the exodus of refugees from Aleppo compounded his guilt, knowing if he stopped to assist them, it would put his own family at risk.A terrible incident occurs which would test him and his family which would be impossible to forget.On their journey to safety they were surprisingly welcomed with compassion from different people encountered. They found that prejudices they once held against different nationalities were utterly unfounded. There had no hidden agendas; most people were good and kind like themselves.
