| Part I of this book gives particular attention to freedom as an "aesthetic idea" that informs certain philosophical discussions of freedom in Kant, Schelling, Nietzsche, Sartre, Camus and Isaiah Berlin. The critical concept of "positive freedom" is discussed in the first chapter and continues to inform the entire book.
