The book focuses on a dialect of Polish spoken as a heritage language in a rural community in southern Brazil. The investigation of its origins, history, and character portrays it as a result of a multilingual process with a specific starting point. The original recording data is analyzed to establish a viable baseline for future in-depth studies.
