The 'Iron Man of India', Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel is considered as one of the founding fathers of the Republic of India who played a leading role in country's Struggle for Independence. After Independence, he influenced kings of various parts of the nation and consolidated their small kingdoms to contribute towards a 'United India'. Unique personalities like Sardar Patel are born once in a millennium to grace the motherland. In the honour of the 'Iron Man of India' - Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Gujarat government is going to build the 'Statue of Unity' at Sadhu Bet, a few miles away from the Sardar Sarovar Dam on the riverbed of Narmada. This will be the world's tallest statue and a tribute to the great patriot and architect of modern India.
