In the first (English) edition of this book, Foridi showed how the intellectual has become a creature threatened with extinction; The contents of this phenomenon are that people such as: Bertrand Russell, Raymond Williams, or Henna Arindand - people who have real acquaintances, a wide vision, and are interested in public issues - were replaced by superficial speakers, and the apologists of research centers, news industry and television photos. The reactions to Foreidi''s opinions were urgent and varying; Where auditors welcomed different political stripes, such as: Roger Skroton and Terry Eaglene in general in the book. As for other writers such as: Nawil Malcolm and David Aaronovic, they were more hostile. As for the matter that no one did, it is ignored by the book; There is a consensus that this book is actually important, and it is on its way until it becomes a contemporary classic reference. In this new version, Frank Foridy keeps the debate related to the role of intellectuals in our society, with an explicit and bold response to its critics. Obeikan Publishing
