In the first (English) edition of this book, Foridi showed how the intellectual has become a creature threatened with extinction; The contents of this phenomenon are that people such as: Bertrand Russell, Raymond Williams, or Henna Arindand - people who have real acquaintances, a wide vision, and are interested in public issues - were replaced by superficial speakers, and the apologists of research centers, news industry and television photos. The reactions to Foreidi''s opinions were urgent and varying; Where auditors welcomed different political stripes, such as: Roger Skroton and Terry Eaglene in general in the book. As for other writers such as: Nawil Malcolm and David Aaronovic, they were more hostile. As for the matter that no one did, it is ignored by the book; There is a consensus that this book is actually important, and it is on its way until it becomes a contemporary classic reference.
