At the start of his retreats, Peter Brown often read through a handout, placing special importance on the part where it said, "Be real and authentic; investigate the actuality of your experience. No rules, no obligations, nothing to live up to. The actuality of your being is the sole authority. Own your experience of the radiance, and don't wait for permission. This retreat is only for you."
