This four-volume illustrated catalog of Chinese paintings in worldwide collections outside China represents more than thirty years of research by scholars at the University of Tokyo's Institute of Oriental Culture. Profusely illustrated with reproductions representing the highest printing standards, the catalog updates and summarizes a previously published series, providing scholars and connoisseurs alike with comprehensive information on more than four thousand paintings in one hundred forty-four collections. Each painting is reproduced in at least one illustration and identifed with the artist's name, the piece's dimensions, and date of work.
