In this autobiography, Dr. Yu-Ming Chang gives witness to what happened and what he experienced over a period of seventy years in China, especially during the devastating decades China was hidden from the West by the "Bamboo Curtain". In the summer of 1955, he and his nine-month-pregnant wife, both physicians, were among a sweep of active Christians arrested in a government crackdown. Years in labor camp and banishment to the countryside followed. In the mid-1980s, the Drs. Chang went to the United States and since then have both participated in cancer research at Yale University.
